VoiceXML Browser Brings Speech Recognition to Millions of Asterisk Users LumenVox Speech Recognition Software Integrated in I6NET’s VXI* 3.1

ines | Press Releases | Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

Press release: Astricon 2008, October 23th - PRWEB

Madrid, Spain and San Diego, California (PRWEB) September 23, 2008 — I6NET, a company specializing in Interactive Voice & Video Response technologies, and LumenVox, a speech recognition software company, announced today the release of VXI* 3.1. VXI* enables thousands of existing VXML applications to run on the Asterisk PBX platform, and new speech recognition solutions to be built affordably.

“The release of VXI*, powered by the LumenVox Speech Engine, allows the large pool of VXML developers to run existing speech applications on the Asterisk platform or to develop new ones that are standards-based,” commented Bill Meisel, president of TMA Associates and Publisher & Editor of Speech Strategy News. “The widespread use of the Asterisk platform presents an opportunity for VoiceXML developers to increase adoption of speech solutions in cost-sensitive markets. And who isn’t sensitive to cost?”

We are very pleased with ease of development with VXML and integration between i6NET and LumenVox technologies, and will have a very robust platform to support the strong growth and global roll-out of the MyVocal service.

MyVocal, a mobile audio service that provides audio content, such as podcasts, travel guides, audio-books, etc., is now adding speech recognition, allowing subscribers of MyVocal to use the service without a single key press. “It was a natural choice for us to select I6NET’s VXI* VoiceXML browser and the LumenVox Speech Engine on the open source Asterisk platform,” said Alexey Patsko, CEO and founder of MyVocal. “We are very pleased with ease of development with VXML and integration between i6NET and LumenVox technologies, and will have a very robust platform to support the strong growth and global roll-out of the MyVocal service.”

“SMB and Fortune 500 companies that service millions of users on Asterisk platforms can now run VXML-based speech solutions,” said Jim Webster, Director of Technology Partnerships at Digium. “This allows both developers and Asterisk users to take advantage of low-cost and robust speech solutions, with the economies of scale Asterisk provides.”

The LumenVox Speech Engine is the only speech recognition software natively integrated with Asterisk and distributed and supported by Digium. VXI* 3.1 is available from I6NET at http://www.i6net.com.
